"A great trip to the Big Apple is not complete without a tour with our great tour guide Pim! We are a group of 4 friends traveling from Amsterdam and absolutely LOVE New York. Through a friend we heard about Pim and his bike tour and as we are quite avid bikers in Amsterdam we felt we really had to take the tour with him. What a great guy, looking out for us all the way, handing us great bikes and showing us places we would otherwise never have seen or biked straight by. Like this really cool mini shopping mall, hidden behind a non-descript front but once entered a mini world on its own with great café place, yoga school and supermarket. As we walked through Pim told us all about how this place got to be, what it’s like living and working here and how the neighborhood is ever changing and evolving. Of course we told Pim in the beginning we were not in a hurry, so he really took the time to show us around, great street art, lunch at the very cool Roberta’s and a tour and background info on the Hasidic Jewish community (of which he was very respectful not to tell us the background info only after we left this neighborhood). "We booked a tour with Pim last May and it was truly a fantastic experience! Pim is very friendly and clear in his communication, so when we arrived at our meeting point in Brooklyn, all was taken care of. He works together with a great little bike rental place who rents really solid and easy to manage bikes. They gave us a small run down of the do’s and don’ts of biking in Brooklyn and of we went. Pim took us straight to a couple of excellent street art locations, beautiful murals and really cool to get to hear the story behind them from him. Pim really knows his art! We’ve been to Manhattan several times, but are not that familiar with Brooklyn, so it was great that Pim could show us some hidden gems which we would otherwise have missed. It feels a bit like cheating to write them down in this review; you’ll just have to join Pim for a tour in order to discover them!
